Instead of round planters, go for rectangular or square ones to place ceramic tile on them easily. Plain surface will act as a great base to stick ceramic tile without much efforts. You can even create a mosaic by selecting colored tiles and put them inside freezer bag. Gently break the tiles using hammer so that you get some larger pieces at the end.

Paste the tiles

If you are using whole tile, you need to space them apart at ¼ inch and take help of spacers for distance maintenance. If you choose mosaic design, you can put pieces closer. However, don’t forget to wear gloves since the edges of broken tiles may cut your skin. Use tile adhesive and place the tile and apply pressure to stick it on the surface of the planter. Continue until your planter surface gets fully coverage of tile pieces.

Final finish

Let the adhesive dry completely. Prepare grout mix and apply on the design once the adhesive is dried. Use the grout float to spread the grout mix. When it is dry, use wet sponge to wipe off excess grout from tile surface.
